Welcome David -

First you need to calculate your budget and see what you want to pay per month and how much you want to spend.

Get preapproved and then contact a local knowledgeable agent in your area.

There is more to this but this should be done first.

If you are going to need a loan, you should contact a lender and get pre-qualified for a mortgage.  It will be much easier to search for homes when you know what you are able to spend and have the ability to move forward on purchasing the home when you find it, rather than trying to go back and get pre-qualified at that point.

First and foremost, check your budget that will allot for the house that you will going to buy.

Another advice is that choose the right real estate agent that will cater your home buying needs and
you should know your real estate agent as well. Browse some real estate companies on the web.
